Welcome to the Computer Lab
Welcome back for another exciting and fun year in the Computer Lab!
We live in a world today that is technology driven and this generation of young children has been born into an age of ever changing media. Everyone has some level of computer skills today and it is my job to keep all my students as current as possible in this fast changing environment. Our goal is to help each of our students become more advanced as the technology around us all moves forward through the years.
The students will learn a variety of technology skills which are project based throughout the year. While the curriculum is based around Microsoft Office programs, I will continually collaborate with all the core subject teachers. In doing so, we can incorporate the full utilization of computer technology with the learning of their core subject materials. The use of the Microsoft programs combined with the resources of the internet will help keep the curriculum fresh and fun, which is essential in keeping our students motivated and excited to learn.
Through the year the students will go from learning basic computer skills to acquiring 21st century knowledge. We will work on the most basic skills such as proper keyboarding techniques to the more advanced such as creation of a website. We will also work on blogging, understand social networking and review other current technologies used today. I enjoy creating engaging, instructional activities in line with curriculum content standards. My goal is to teach my students skills that are current, fun, and challenging.
During the year there will be much time dedicated to the importance of Internet Safety and Cyber-bullying. While the internet is fast paced, fun and exciting it must also be monitored and supervised for these young students and they must learn some of the real dangers that exist when “logging on” to websites. It is critical that they understand safety and privacy when computing on the Internet.
Thank you for visiting "Mrs. Campbell's Computer Technology Class". Please revisit my site as it will be continually updated with any important communications as well as a great forum for us all to enjoy all of my students’ fabulous work!
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me at any time. I am looking forward to a fun and exciting new school year!
Have a great day!
